Hello everyone, Greetings from Project Korikath <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Project_Korikath> and the Wiki Loves Folklore Bangladesh 2025 organizing team <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Folklore_2025_in_Bangladesh/Team> !
This International Mother Language Day <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Mother_Language_Day> (February 21), we plan to celebrate linguistic diversity in a special way, and we need your help. If you’d like to participate, please send the following info to [email protected] or me within February 20, 2025: 1. Your Wikimedia username 2. The name of your mother language 3. A line or two from a folk song in your mother language that talks about “Mother.” Write it by hand using a thick pen (gel pen or marker) and send us a clear image of your handwriting. 4. The English translation of the sentence(s) in a message. We will collect all the handwritten submissions and share them with the global Wikimedia movement through Diff, our social media handles, and Wikimedia Commons. Our goal is to highlight linguistic diversity across the Wikimedia community. We’ll publish these handwritings as photocards under CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Please ensure that the lyrics are from a folk song and not copyrighted. You can read about last year’s celebration here: https://diff.wikimedia.org/2024/03/06/celebrating-the-international-mother-language-day/ Cheers!
