This question should be in another thread as well. Real-time publishing belongs on WikiNews, a point I've made for several years. While there's an effort to close WikiNews, it could serve as a crucial buffer for new information. We don't always know the full impact or long-term notability of an event/discovery. Some information might not warrant a full encyclopedic article, and if we block the ability to process knowledge in real-time, we risk losing valuable information or diminishing our social importance, including our ability to quickly debunk misinformation.
