The founder of Sugar labs, Walter Bender, will be in India from about 21-29 August (i.e. now) and will speak at HBCSE in Mumbai on 28 August, 4-6 pm, for those interested in furthering the importance of good quality primary education. It is an open, public, meeting.
Sugar is the platform developed for the xo NetBook under the olpc program, and is available on most general purpose computers today, and also on a pen drive for a test drive before installation. It provides children with a playground to learn, with communication and collaboration key ingredients. Interested persons needing to know more about the Mumbai program may contact me offlist.
