Ramya just posted a summary of map feature names in Indic languages [1] on the OpenStreetMap Project which powers the new Wikimedia Maps [2].
In India, the Kannada community has been the most active by far adding over 32,000 feature lablels and have even created an interactive map of the world [3] which is the first of its kind for any Indic language. Hindi is a distant second with over 2,000 feature names. If you are interested to view maps in your language try out the multilingual map tool [4]. You can also make quick maps using existing OSM data using Overpass [5] and export the data. Localized maps like this are still largely experimental and need a lot of work. It would be great to see more Wikimedians involved in leveraging this open map data for local Wiki projects.
