Hello Wikimedians,

FYI, Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in India has ended on September 30, 2020.
This year around 4500 images
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images_from_Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2020_in_India>
were submitted, which is lower than previous years but the low number was
expected as COVID-19 has led to the restriction of movements preventing
people from going outside of their homes and taking photographs.

We have managed to increase the list of the non-designated monuments even
during the competition. Thanks to Subodh Kulkarni who had held meetings
with different municipal corporation authorities, heritage organizations
and other like minded organizations from Maharashtra to help us prepare
lists of monuments from Pune, Solapur, Ambajogai, Ichalkaranji, Satara etc.
Thanks to Shyamal, who helped to connect with Uday Kumar PL from the group
Inscription Stones of Bangalore, who are meticulously documenting
inscription stones from all over Bangalore; WLM now have a list of around
50 non-designated inscription stones from there too.

We have already started primary sorting of photographs from the organizer's
side taking care of certain criteria and will continue to do so upto 15th
October. We will then forward all the sorted photographs to the jury team,
who will take another 15 days to complete the judging process and declare
results by the end of the month. As always, jury decisions will be final.

Categorization of the images properly and data related works are also going
on simultaneously and will be done throughout the year.

Like previous years, we will finish the entire judging process within the
set deadline.

Regards,
Bodhisattwa
(on behalf of WLM team)
