Incidentally, it's worth noting that Google Translate is already crowdsourced to an extent.
IMHO the idea of translation "hints" embedded into Wikipedia articles is a better one. I'm not sure it's going to be possible to construct a pitch for as complex a project as that within a short amount of time however; it may even require a new web standard. Harry -- Harry Burt / User:Jarry1250
