Dear all I'm delighted to introduce Esma Gjertson, who has recently joined the Wikimedia UK staff team as our new Volunteer Coordinator. This is a fixed term post for a year and Esma will be working two days a week, generally on Thursdays and Fridays. Esma will be working on a range of things including Wiki Loves Monuments, Train the Trainer and driving engagement with volunteer grants, as well as seeding and developing new contributor communities within underrepresented groups.

Hopefully there will be opportunities for you to meet her in person over the next few months, such as at the community activities being planned for Wikimania in August. Esma brings great experience in volunteer development and support, as well as in strategy and project management, but is new to the Wikimedia movement.
