Patch by Beau Comment: This patch seems to make a lot of formatting changes unrelated to the described issue, which makes it hard to find and test the functional part -- can you please revert for now pending review? The patch posted on the bug report also comes with a warning that it "messes up layout" if the image is big, which may indicate that the image is not being set to the proper on-page size.
