We are in fact discussing how appropriate it is to feature it but, as
you can see at https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57805#c6
Mark (MultimediaViewer maintainer) thinks that it might have significant
overlap with the work they are planning to do this year.

Considering the GSoC deadlines, if there is no progress this week
between Mark, Dereckson and others, I'd recommend you to put your bets
in another project.
