Hello Patchdemons!
You can now add a code server to your demo, allowing you to make quick
changes without needing to push a new patch and recreate your demo. We hope
this helps speed up your development process!
To create a demo with a code server, select the “Deploy code server”
checkbox and create as usual. Once your demo has been created, find the
link and password to your code server in the “Actions” column of the wiki
list. You can edit the code directly in your browser.
Some things to note about the code server feature:
* In order to ensure everyone can access this feature, we have limited code
server usage to 1 per user. We hope to increase this limit in the future as
resources allow.
** You can add or remove a code server from an existing demo on the
demo edit page.
* The code server only has access to your demo’s database, so you can run
db migrations, but no other egress is available at this time. There is no
ability to pull/push changes to/from gerrit.
** Scripts can be run by opening the terminal in the code server IDE.
* The code server IDE does not include any plug-ins/extensions.
* When you make changes to the code on your demo, you may need to do a hard
refresh to see them show up.
* The changes you make to your demo will not persist after a demo
recreation event.
