Arianespace this Friday (12-8)is set to attempt the final launch for the year of a Ariane 5 ECA (v.174) with WildBlue 1 for WildBlue communications and AMC-18 for SES Americom, from ELA-3, Kourou, French Guiana, South America.
Launch is set for 5:08 p.m. EST. with a window extending to 5:51 p.m. EST. Spacecraft separation for WildBlue-1 is expected 27 minutes after lift off and 32 minutes after liftoff for AMC-18. WildBlue-1, the first satellite to be totally dedicated to broadband Internet services. is a FS 1300 buss model built by Space Systems Loral, has 35 geographical spot beams. WildBlue-1 will be located at 111 degrees West. AMC-18 built by Lockheed Martin, is a A 2100 buss model with 24 Cband transponders. AMC-18 will be located at 105 degrees West.
