I am thinking of using an external hard drive connected to my computer with
USB 2.0
It will have at least as big or bigger drive than the one that I keep my
data on.
I want to be able to a back up at any time I desire
I would like it to do incremental backups, or only the files that have
changed.

What are you backing up too, tape, dvd, NAS/SAN, etc
How many machines
Do you need to do disaster/bare metal recovery
Do you need to do a live backup or from dos/bootable cd etc
