Yup, just went through this with one of my clients a couple weeks ago, motherboard with onboard intel video. IIRC, you right click on the desktop > properies > advanced > video utilities (can't remember exact name) and the next page has a rotation tab, set it back to zero and you're good to go.
And that is why it usually flips on the startup splash screen, as the video driver loads and the "extra features" kick in. :) Sometimes SAs (aka - practical jokers) will do this to unsuspecting users, creating all types of anxiety for them. And if we are the SA, we give them the Sharol "fix". <VBG>
