That sounds like mine. It plugs directly into the USB port and is about 1" x 2". It doesn't have a cable at all. It is by eFilm (got it cheap from Buy.com, I think).
I lost one USB drive to a win98 machine with a funky USB port, but Sandisk replaced it without a problem. I've dropped them with no problems. I think the USB stick is a bit faster, but that depends on the port. It is lightning fast on my Dell with 2.0 USB, but on older 98 machines it is a bit slow. You can copy FROM it much faster than writing TO it.
