I deal with a local taxing authority that has an "older" program that
lets you fill out their forms, e-file, etc., on the computer.
(It runs on the Borland DataBase engine...)
It runs in some sort of forced mode, (especially on XP) and they always
recommend the following to anyone having ANY type of printing problems...

How to Set Up a LaserJet Series II Printer
    1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Printers, and then double-click
Add Printer.
    2. Follow the instructions on the screen. Do not make the LaserJet Series
II your
default printer if you routinely print from other applications.
    3. It is not necessary to print a test page-but if you want to, first make
sure your
printer is on and ready to print.

I do it "another way", (print to PDF, and print those) but this might help
you...
It seems to be the "generic" HP driver...
Can't hurt too much... (?)
