Subject: XP DNS client timeout

Anyone know if it is possible to change the timeout for XP's dns client?
My connection is often VERY slow [especially if I happen to have it
hammered downloading something [at a princely 33K :o(] and a LOT Of the
time I get DNS timeouts which makes an already crappy-to-use connection
REALLY awful. Judging from the speed of things giving up, it looks like
the DNS timeout is something like five seconds... my guess is that if I
could up that to, say, 30 seconds my life'd be better... is that doable?
