Okay, I have 2 HP Vectra VL420DT machines I am setting up for a client. I
setup the first one with XP Pro and all the necessary software. I then
ghosted it to another harddrive and ran sysprep to change the SID.
On neither machine can I copy the admin profile to make it the default
profile. I have a second admin user created on both machines, I login as that
user and then goto control panel > system > advanced > user profiles, select
the main admin account for the first machine, I do not have the option to
copy the profile, it's greyed out. For the second machine, I can select copy,
point it to doc&settings\Default User, change permitted to use to Everyone,
click ok, and then yes and I get an error:
Failed to set security on the Destination Profile. Error - Access is
denied.
Looking at the permissions on the folder, the admin group has full
control....
Any suggestions on fixing this? I've seen this several times while googling
but haven't found a solution yet.
