My C: drive is a 6 gig partition on an 80 gig Maxtor HD. I put only
programs on it and regularly clear off any saved applications data such as
photo's, graphics and any other generated data that can be off loaded to
another drive. However, Windows or something keeps filling up the drive so
that I frequently get Low space problem messages. I use the Windows Clean
Up utility to empty out Temp files and other items I can identify as
probably no longer needed. Also have deleted certain programs like Turbo
Tax now that Tax returns have been accepted. I use Nortons Prof Internet
Security to check for Virus's and weed out Spam.
Is there anything else one can do to keep the C drive from running over.
I see lots of stuff I think is generated by Windows with unintelligible
names which may possibly be OK to delete after a short time, but I have no
idea what they are or are used for.. There is still considerable space on
the F: drive partition, for data storage on the 80 gig HD, and I have
Partition Magic 8.0 but I hesitate to just expand the C: Drive incrementally
if there is anyway to keep it at a reasonably low size.
Thanks guys
  Happy Landings
