Hi Lona,

I'm also running 2000 Pro, & I can get Paint to *not* save as jpg, too! If
you select an area of an image & "copy to" from the edit menu, you get a
choice of only bmp. Just save at the best resolution (24-bit), then re-open
this new image & *then* save as jpg.
