The ATI installation will not install. I get an error message "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup."
Here is all the info I have: This is my back up machine, it has worked with the ATI card before. WinXP Home ATI 9000 video card There is no display adapter listed in device manager. I can see the screen, I am on this system now. When I right click the desktop, properties, advanced, adapter, properties, driver, it says VgaSave and that is all. There is not option to uninstall, upgrade or anything else. When I boot, the new hardware wizard does not find the card and ask if I want to install it. In control panel, install hardware, I go through the instructions and when I click the inf file to be able to choose which card, there are no cards listed. I have downloaded the newest file from ATI and still can't install. Jimmy A. Hughes [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.earthlink.net/~homeinspector/ Ok- big picture- you have installed the new ATI card and you can see your display? If so, you don't need to set to standard VGA, I believe that step is for before you remove the old card and install the new so when the system starts up with the new card it has a display. If you have a display, just go ahead and install the drivers for your new card.
