As long as I can see that  there is additional comments in the message without 
scrolling (as there was with the message I'm quoting now), it's Ok. It's when 
you have to scroll several screens and don't know if there is a useful reply or 
just a "me too!" stuck in that its worse. 

When you come right down to it, it's really not top vrs bottom posting - but 
logical quoting (and trimming) and having comments in the first screen so 
people know you are adding something to the conversation. Sometimes top replies 
make the most sense, other times bottom replies work - and sometimes inline is 
better. In any case, marking the quoted so it's set off from the new comments 
is important when you bottom or inline post.
