I should have realized the further north (or south) of the
Equator one goes the bigger the difference in day/night hours.
After all, the North (and South) Pole has a period of almost 24
hr days and 6 mo. later almost 24 hr nights. :)

Where you are in the TZ (east to west) makes a diff in the sunrise /sunset
times - in Maine we were at the eastern edge of the eastern zone. Here in TN,
the western edge is an hour west. So along with the differences from being 500
miles south, we also have the affect of being somewhat farther west too. Our
sunrise is later and the sunset is sooner than up north - my spot watch tells
me so every weekend when we go to Toledo <g>
Dusk and dawn are a lot longer up north too - when the sun goes down at home,
it gets dark fast. Up north, it's still light out for a long time.
