What do yall other OEM's do for CPU fan replacements for original equipment? I buy my Intel CPU's in the retail box which includes the heatsink/fan combo. I have never had one of those fans go bad. I have purchased the Spark 7+ fan and heatsink from www.thermaltake.com for use on 478 sockets where I needed a CPU fan. It includes two fan RPM controls, one on a plate for the rear and one on a 5.25 plate for the front (I always install the one on the front.) It does not include a temperature control (a thermostat.)

All the comments re this thread have been valuable. But nothing has a thermostat!

Here tech companies go to the trouble to produce a fan controller and none seems to have included a thermostat to increase fan speed (and maybe noise) when things get jumpy once in a while. I agree; the value of such a gadget ain't great.

Which HDDs have the ability to report temperature as do my current IBM SCSIs?
