Considering the price hike for computer stuff in the UK
(Comparing US and UK prices $1 = £1.40, and continental EU and UK prices
(Germany and Holland), and 1euro = £1 approx )
(Yes I know the official exchange rate is nearer $2 to the £1, but that's
for cash, not computer pricing after import.)
I'd suggest buying before you get to the UK - just specify the need to run
on UK power supplies
The keyboard layout and OS setup are surely up to whoever is going to use
the thing - unless you are considering trying to sell it in the UK for a
profit!
Also - recent personal experience with Toshiba would suggest they be avoided
(I want to replace and upgrade the disk in my system, and Toshiba
cannot/will not tell me what size drives the notebook will support,
nor can they point me at any UK company that can,
and they won't supply a manual showing how to access and replace the drive
and, although their site names the drivers I would need to update to win2K,
they don't seem to supply a download link
and it looks as if it will cost more to put a 10GB replacement drive in the
system than it will cost to get a complete new system from Dell.
