The wired Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL router, Model #BESFR41 should do the job fine.
It also gives you another firewall for both machines.

The only possible hitch is that your ISP may become aware you have two PCs connected to the Router and charge you a small premium for the second access to the net.

I don't find a great difference in the speed with two connections.
Try it.

Speaking of "simple"......that's what I need <smile>.

One of the posts here mentioned "if you dont' care about speed"
use an older such and such.

DirecWay is on the way here, or so they say (you never
know...............this is the land of manana) and I'll need to
network my wife's and my computer.

I have an older router........3, maybe 5 years old. Does that mean
that it is "slow" and will slow our connection?

It's a LinkSys Etherfast Cable/DSL router, Model #BESFR41 V2.

Think that piece will be ok, or should I get something more
current. It doesn't need to be wireless.

Jim
