Chuck, You could/should add to your advice about the OEM software: Get any update that you can from their web site, and expect problems if you add a different CD or DVDdrive to your system
OEM versions I got with 2 drives (CD/DVD reader, and new CD/DVD rewriter ) from different manufacturers were supposedly the version of the software but I couldn't use the drives to do a fast copy because neither version would function properly if the drive that came with the other version was 'installed' in my system. Eventually got the 'retail' version which worked with both drives! Also found that Nero INCD considered the Roxio created CD-RW packet mode backups to have unreadable 'control' directories scattered throughout the directory structures - had to use Roxio to create CD-R versions from the CD-RW - and then re-create the CD-RW in packet mode using Nero. Main annoyance with Nero - verify reports the sectors that are bad, but shows me the platter content as a set of files/directories so, how do I know which file needs to be backed up to a different platter. The answer - use karenware DirPrn with SHA1 hashing and compare the original directories with the CD/DVD platter JimB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Andrews" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 23, 2005 3:32 PM Subject: Re: nerovision express doesn't recognize DL disk > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Rick Glazier" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Monday, August 22, 2005 12:02 PM > Subject: Re: nerovision express doesn't recognize DL disk > > > > I use Nero, but have EZCD Creator6 and Roxio Easy Media Creator7. > > > > Thank you.
