Oh, I have one of them too... (Two port.)
I generally like to have "full access" to both computers.
I might be beta testing the same program build on different OSs.
(They can react differently...)

I have also had dual monitors on one machine for running different
programs on different monitors when I also needed drag and drop
between programs...

That's why I put a 4 port KVM switch in ages ago. 1 keyboard, monitor, and mouse vs. 4. I still don't have much room left on my desk, it seems stuff just finds a way to accumulate based on the available space!
