Wanna bet the 98 floppies were mostly the 1.7Mb format mode (The data on each track being written as a single 'sector')
You may be able to download the floppy images from one of the web sites that holds 'old' software But an 'id code' and licence will still be needed to install and run it And then it will need patching to be even remotely safe to connect to the web JimB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hugh Gundersen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 10:33 PM Subject: Re: Win 98 on Floppies? Win95 came on about 30 floppies. I am also sure that win98 was available on floppies. If you have access to another computer with a CD drive and a floppy drive why don't you copy the CD to a folder then RAR it up as a self extractor (EXE) using the 1.44Mb size for the bits. Copy all the floppies to the Hdd and then boot to dos and copy all the floppies to the Hdd is a separate folder/partition and install from the Hdd? It will take a fair time but then you will always have the floppies for when you pension it off. Just an idea!!!
