I am going to explain my own solution.
My computer was not actually going on standby but
it was screen saver that needed password to resume.
Check your screen saver setting and uncheck the resume
option.
The screen saver is set to not require a password (Screen Saver after 30
minutes). The computer goes into stand by even though the Power settings
says "Never" and the Advanced setting has the "Prompt for password on
resume" unchecked.
