Many times one can sandwich a filter between the frame & the outer
casing. I cut furnace filters all the time. Generally they're a
little more coarse than AC filters as I wouldn't want to restrict air
flow too quickly right off the bat but one really would have to try
it in their system(s) to find out which they like the best.
It helps furnace filters to spray with the non-stick spray also
