WMP analyzes an AVI file before it starts to play and won't begin if the file is incomplete or damaged. It's been that way ever since I can remember.
Your problem will be resolved by re-downloading or otherwise obtaining a complete and undamaged AVI file. And no, gspot does not do a thorough examination of the AVI file. -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Aditya Mishra Sent: Sunday, September 18, 2005 9:07 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: AVI file help needed I did use gspot to test the file and it tells me that it was correctly rendered but my problem is still not resolved. I have installed ogg and other codecs too but WMP still cannot play it. Divxplayer can play only a few seconds of the file which probably means the file is somehow damaged. I still cannot understand why WMP cannot play it at all. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aditya Mishra" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Windows Home/SOHO" <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 18, 2005 7:40 PM Subject: Re: AVI file help needed > Thank you Gene, I had forgotten the name of the program. > I used to have this program but lost it after my disk crash. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gene Stolz" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, September 18, 2005 5:41 PM > Subject: Re: AVI file help needed > > >> Google for Gspot.
