Aloha All,

After following some of your suggestions, I've determined that my 'problem'
stems from something in the .exe files that are being called. Since there is
nothing I can do about that, I guess I'm 'forced' to accept an occasional
"Terminate batch file> (Y/N)" query.

So, please consider the 'problem' solved.
