All prior threads I remember talked about GOING TO YOUR NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE to use the wireless network.
Now you're saying you can't access the neighbor's network FROM YOUR HOUSE? Does your neighbor even know you are doing this? Come back to this thread when you can't access the neighbor's network from the neighbor's living room. With your wireless on channel 6 and the neighbor's also on channel 6, there is a conflict and the wireless card ignores the weaker signal most of the time. On the occasions when it does detect it enough to show it, it's still being swamped by your signal too much to support a connection. The notebook belongs to my stepson and is sitting on a table beside me. The Westel "gateway" is attached to my computer, the one I'm using now. His notebook had been working wirelessly when he first left it here, connecting to a neighbor's network. However, it did see the SSID broadcast by the Westell and was not able to connect to it. Now the notebook doesn't see anything. -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
