K9 together with Peg's stupid cpu-spin-loop pop client really hosed my system whenever I downloaded email. I was surprised to discover that PopFile made for much less of a 'hit' than K9 did. > Was it easy to make the switch from one to t'other? But I found PopFile easier to configure than K9 [passing the APOP info was a bunch easier than configuring that in K9] But another surprise: it trained *MUCH* more quickly than K9 did. [I know this because I recently moved my email stuff to a different computer and reinstalled K9 and saw how long the 'tail' was -- AND -- K9 is a real nuisance to train: you have to open it explicitly and then poke around to find the message that it mis-classified. You'll find that the web interface, together with the clickable header PopFile sticks in is a real joy. NB: I don't use PopFiles 'bucket' machinery, so I can't comment on its utility or effectiveness, or how fast it trains multiple-buckets, etc. All I need from PopFile is "spam" or "Not spam" and my mail client does the rest, and it does that just fine. /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is your picture included in the Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page? http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html If not, write to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
