Actually, this is an XP Pro machine and it has only "administrative"

You told Rick that you're using Home.
Oops! Sorry about that.
So I assume that you are XP Home rather than Pro since you say you only
have administrative and limited type accounts. In Pro you have Permission
Groups rather than account types.
No, it's Pro and under User Accounts, it offers only Admin and Limited. (I
know, Wayne -- no one uses CP > Users in Pro).
You said that you could access the directory while logged in as the user.
Can you set the Properties of the directory and is private an option you
can set there? If the account is limited you may have to make it an
Administrator to allow it to set properties of the directory.
The last alternative would be to delete the user and readd it.
Because of time pressures, I took that alternative.
Thanks for the help.
Sorry, I forgot about the User applet in CP. You must have your system set
for Simple File Sharing, because I don't and when I add a new user through
the applet it doesn't ask me that question.
Well, at least you were able to delete and readd without problem!
