Hi everyone.
I ran into a problem I just can't seem to fix. I re-installed XP Sp2 on my
wife's computer yesterday. Its a P4 2.0 GHz, ASUS P4S533 with integrated
sound. Everything went well during installation with its usual sounds
during the multiple reboots and so on. A day later I seem to have lost all
windows sounds. I've tested the sound card and everything works ok. I
tested it playing games (Call of Duty), tested the hardware in messenger
7.5, played cds and mp3 in windows media player everthing works fine.
However, I am not able to get any windows sounds nor am I able to get any
sounds when I play internet windows games in places like yahoo for example.
I checked in the control panel, sound and audio devices, to make sure I have
the latest drivers, no incompatibles, nothing is muted yet still no sound.
Any ideas what could be wrong and what I could do to fix this problem.
