I use a program called NetLimiter to keep tabs on my traffic. It has the added bonus of being able to limit access speeds per program.

After visiting their website it would appear they are releasing a free Monitor Only version (currently in Beta)

Is there an app that'll [relatively simply] let you know which apps are *using* the network? I use TCPView [from systeminternals] all the time, but the one thing it won't tell me is whether the connection is _active_ or not [e.g., I invariably have several ssh sessions open, all mostly idle, but there's no way [I can see] to tell that from the tcpview screen].

Thanks! /bernie\
