A friend wants to save a fish screen saver he bought for his w98 machine,
and transfer it to his new xp machine.
Memory tells me to look for .scr extension files.
Back in those Win9x days I did some fresh installs and copy jobs.
I installed DOS, then copied all of the C Drive contents to a folder on
another hard drive.
I did the same for Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 98SE, and Millennium. Then I burned
all of these folders to a CD. I picked everything for these installs so my
files library would be as complete as possible.
My purpose was to have a permanent copy of all files installed for each
install for future use. From time to time somebody discovers they are
missing a file in a legal install of DOS or mainly Windows. Some can
sucessfully extract the file from their Windows CD. Others may need an
actual copy of a file from my CD.
If any file is copied to the hard drive during an install and remains there,
I should have a copy of that file. This includes, of course any .scr
screensaver files. But, according to what you said, you already have the
file. You just need to find it and copy it.
