It shouldn't. The PSU converts AC power to DV. The extra plug on the back of
the PSU is just an extra AC output that is split from the incoming AC power.
It should have no more effect than using a power strip to connect both the
PC and the Monitor to a single outlet. If you have really bad power and a
really cheap power supply, it might intensify any interference problems you
have, but that would be the least of your worries.
I've had ZERO problems the few times that I've resorted to doing this
but the fact that it requires a special cable doesn't help matters very much.
