if you know and trust the poster yes, but i would not trust a coworker who
is prone to forwarding junk - unless i was 110% certain she is the one who
made the url. Otherwise, i'd suspect she forwarded urls that spammers sent
her.

i personally prefer to take the time to fix broken urls and rarely use tiny
urls sent to me. i have a redirection script running on my web server so i
can easily make my own if need be.
