An earlier install of AdAware DID have spyware, it was only in the
versions distributed via p2p (no surprise there)
I always use the latest version I have downloaded from the AdAware site, the
same as I download AVG latest versions from the AVG site. I also install as
a courtesy, Adobe Reader, along with the Microsoft updates for Windows etc.
on all format and reinstall jobs and on new computers I build. It is
comforting to be reassured that I am not installing spyware (riding in on a
symbolic Trojan horse) on computers. I will humbly discontinue some or all
of the "courtesy installs" if I am informed from reliable sources that I am
installing problems.
