if the firewall is enabled to block either the site or wmf files, it

Except that I've read a report indicating that there are instances of the
malevolent wmf file being relabeled as a jpg. There is apparently an embedded
header in wmf files that causes it to be treated as such when opened, despite
the misleading jpg extension. Blocking wmf files at the firewall won't protect
against this.
