Some USB external devices need external power supplies & even if they
don't the USB port may need to provide power to the device. Either way
if not enough power is getting to the device it will never show up in
the DM. Probably the Belkin external USB hub has it's own power supply
& it's providing enough power for the external device to operate.
Without TFM this is my best guesstimate & while YMMV I seriously doubt
it that it would. ;-)
Reinstalled the drivers again.
Now everything is recognized.
Thank god the port was not fried.
Daughters USB drive must have messed thing up.
