For the DEP that's why choose AMD over Intel. Since 1989 I've been
using AMD procs for many years from the K5 to the Athlon family.
Now onward to the X2 family. ;)

DEP [data execution prevention] that you can read more about at
Control Panel\System\Properties\Advanced\Performance Settings
button\Data Execution Prevention\How does it work? "This is a
hardware-based technology designed to mark memory locations as
non-executable" & is available only with the AMD64 CPUs.

FWIW this is just another place where AMD kicks the pants off of
Intel. DEP & nVidia's nForce firewall are 2 different kinds of
security precautions. IIRC nVidia had this out before Xp had Sp2 with
it's Security Center.

This particular mombo uses the nVidia nForce 3 chipset which you can
read more about here <http://www.nvidia.com/page/nf3.html>.
