I'm testing out these program, and like the style of GDS, but it's giving me some problems.

For starters, I really like the Quick Search function (double-tap Ctrl). This seems to work fine for searching my documents, but if I try to use the Keyboard shortcuts for a Web Search (CTRL-W) or image search (CTRL-I) then nothing happens.

Also, in Copernic is there any way to get it to order results by relevancy instead of the directory the files are found in?

I really like the preview pane of the Copernic search. I don't think the Google search results give enough info about the content of the file prior to opening.

You can do the same with Google's desktop search. GDS will handle Eudora or thunderbird as well as Outlook. Don't think copernic will index thunderbird(at least it used to not). GDS will also let you do a desktop search as well as internet search from the same search box. I used copernic for a very long time but switched to GDS when version 2 came out. I'm now running ver 4.2006.303.5-en.

I second that. I've tried Google Desktop Search and went back to
Copernic - its ability to bring in email matches as you type in
criteria is very nice.
