Hello

I tried to reply sooner but was rejected for being too long.
But - what went wrong that requires a repair?
Problem:I tried Windows OneCare Live beta and didn't like it and uninstalled it... I forgot to include that Windows OneCare Live was installed before the problem occured.

From microsoft: "From your description, I understand that after removing
Windows OneCare, some changes have been made to the system,
such as being unable to use ATI movie viewer, Nero Burning Rom, etc."
I was told to uninstall it again with 1 uninstall file and a file to change regs which they sent me, failed to change the problem.

Then I was told to do a system restore; found 24 restore points ( how many can you have?) 20 failed. No. 21 worked but since this was after the install date for Windows OneCare Live it did not change the problem.

From microsoft: "Dear Joseph,
Thank you for contacting Windows OneCare Live Beta Support. My name is Davy and I will be working with you to resolve this issue. For your reference, the case ID for this service request is SRZ060209001311. You can contact me directly by writing an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the case ID in the subject line.

From your description, I understand that after removing Windows OneCare, some changes have been made to the system, such as being unable to use ATI movie viewer, Nero Burning Rom, etc.

If I have misunderstood, please feel free to let me know.
I understand the inconvenience you have experienced. Please be assured that I will do my best to help you. First, I suggest we try the following steps to manually uninstall Windows OneCare Live again: 1. Please download the attachment in this email and extract it to the Desktop. After doing so, you will see the following two files: uninstall.reg Uninstall.cmd Note: the file name extensions may be hidden. 2. Please double click Uninstall.cmd. Click "Yes" when prompted for confirmation. 3. When being prompted with "Would you like to reboot now?", type Y and then press Enter.
The computer will be restarted then.
Please check if other programs can be properly loaded now.
If not, it is possible that we will need to restore the system to a previous point, which before installing Windows OneCare, to check the results. I will provide the relevant information based on your response. Please try the troubleshooting steps above and inform me of the results at your earliest convenience. If anything in my email is unclear, or if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. We welcome any feedback you may have regarding Windows OneCare Support. I would be glad to
forward these comments to the management team for future consideration.

Thank you for participating in the Windows OneCare Beta. I look forward to hearing from you.
