I have a Thinkpad A22m running XP Pro that randomly seems to switch into virtual screen mode and I can't figure out why it's doing this.
I normally run at the full 1024x768 resolution, however sometimes on a full restart and more often when coming out of hibernation, the machine switches to 800x600 display with a virtual 1024x768 resolution where you move the cursor to the edge of the screen to scroll to see the rest of the virtual screen. This probably happens may 2 or 3 times out 10 when starting the machine. I've googled and checked the ibm website, however hits I get don't cover this case. Restarting the computer generally resolves the problem until the next time. >From what I remember with an older TP I had years ago, you could control this will hotkeys or function keys, however I've been unable to get that working on this machine. Anyone have any ideas on what causes this and how to permanently resolve it? -- Harondel J. Sibble Sibble Computer Consulting Creating solutions for the small business and home computer user.
