Should have used MaxBlast4 and done the lot beforehand. Doh!
Not on SATA drives as that does NOT install the Winders SATA drivers
so I doubt that if you clone the PATA drive that it'll run without
those Winders SATA drivers. If you recall years ago modems & sound
cards were the same way as they may or may not have needed a DOS
driver but they always needed a Winders driver as well.
But the computer MOBO recognized the SATA Hdd and the BIOS
registered it but XP installation seemed
to say F*** off.................?
The bios only allows a SATA drive if you're installing DOS but has
nothing to do with Winders & because the bios sees the SATA drive may
allow Winders to see the drive but will NOT allow partitioning & or formatting.
Just as with SCSI drives, SATA drives MUST have that F6 boot drv disk
for Winders or it's a no go. The last I knew there was no exceptions
to this. IIRC Xp did include a few basic SCSI drivers but not very
many & that was still better than Windows 2k which didn't have any
SCSI drivers.
Sorry buddy but without the driver diskette I'm nearly 100% certain
that you'll not get Winders to boot that SATA drive.
