Hi,

My kit has just taken 60 seconds between a click on "OK to print" & the
start of printing! If I click on Files/Page set-up, it takes 35 seconds to
get the window on screen, then another 10 for it to go away when I just
click "OK". There must be a way to speed this up!

The set-up: a Toshiba with MSWord + XP Home, wireless to a Asus-based Win2K
machine with an Epson RX520 (USB).

There is a huge dialog between the 2 machines while I wait (flashing lights
on the Linksys router). The file is only 41k, draft mode. What are these
guys doing? Chatting?
I can imagine:
Tosh: "hey man, while the dude was trying to get a date last night, *I* was
exchanging packets with that tasty Vaio the girl was running".
Asus: " you mean the TX? You don't want to mess with her - she's got a
virus!"

Back on topic, can anyone suggest a fix for this? For the moment, it's
faster to pull the files into the Asus & then run Word there - printing is
instantaneous.

TIA,

Richard.be

P.S. I just checked the running processes on the Tosh: spoolsv.exe is using
99% CPU during these delays, even if I de-select spooling in printer
properties. What *is* this?
