Maybe check for latent disk/file system problems?
1) run check disk with the full surface scan option
2) run a utility that will give you the disk drive's SMART data
and/or run a SMART self-test. The disk drive manufacturer
might have a tool for that, or others here can suggest another.
3) bring up the windows task manager (ctl-alt-del) and watch
the performance tab while you run AVG manually (during the day).
